“I found this town in the late 70’s, or more accurately, Flagstaff called me and I answered the phone. I knew instantly this is where I would live and die. After a 28 year career in clinical social work, I started Flagstaff Sports Exchange in my garage in spring 2009. Recession rained down hard then, if you recall. I figured an outdoor gear swap shop in a town like Flagstaff would meet an unmet niche and be fairly recession proof. So far so good! I’m so grateful to be here and to be a part of this beautiful outdoorsy community.” ~ KatyLu
It’s quite simple. When you buy from a locally owned business, you know that you’re not helping a wealthy CEO in another town or state buy yet another vacation property – you’re helping a fellow community member send his/her kids to little league, a local student pay tuition, local parents feed their family and pay their mortgage, and making sure that an area small business succeeds. You’re helping your local economy maintain schools, roads, safety, infrastructure… This is our home. Our customers are our shareholders. We thank you!
